Naghali of Ferdosi's Epic Work Shahnameh

We are delighted to invite you all to a Naghali (story-telling) of Ferdosi's Shahnameh by Fatemeh Habibizad, aka GordAfarid.

GordAfarid is the first woman who, in the history of Naqhali in Iran, has performed theatrical narrations of epics, national stories, and folklore. She has performed in cities and villages across Iran, and in many European and Asian countries.

Dear All,
As nature is going green again, we want to celebrate the rejuvenation of nature and beginning of Persian New Year. This year the vernal equinox moment is at 10:32am. We will start our event at 9am to say good bye to the old year, and celebrate the beginning of the year 1389. Please come and enjoy traditional food of "sabzi-polo" and "kuku-sabzi", playing games and catching up with old friends.

Dear friends,
In celebration of 1389 New year's eve, we are organizing a boat party on Friday night March 19. We are going to drink, dance, hoot and stomp till mid-night on the luxurious Pinot Noir deck while cruising the San Francisco bay. It will be a fun night before the beginning of the new Persian year. Music will be played by DJ Dadmehr all night long. Please join us for toasts of good cheer as we celebrate the upcoming new year on the bay!

As the second PSA movie series of the year, we will be showing "No One Knows of Persian Cats" (کسی از گربه های ایرانی خبر نداره)
This drama follows a young boy and a young girl as they plan to launch a music group shortly after being released from prison. Both characters travel to Tehran where they meet other underground rock musicians and attempt to convince them to leave Iran. However, their dreams to flee to Europe in order to play music freely seem improbable without money or a passport.

Prof. Eaman Eftekhari: Pursuing a Career in Iran

The Persian Student Association is pleased to announce a talk by Prof. Eaman Eftekhari titled "Pursuing A Career in Iran, Challenges and Opportunities".
Professor Eftekhary received his B.Sc. degree from Sharif University of Technology in Mathematics in 2000 and Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Princeton University in 2004. He was an Assistant Professor at Harvard University from 2004 to 2007. Since 2007 he has been a faculty at the School of Mathematics of The Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (formerly IPM) in Iran. In this talk he will speak about his experience as a faculty both in the U.S. and Iran as well as plotting a scope of career opportunities available in Iran.

It's a story about three Iranian families who are traveling to North of Iran in order that they can introduce the teacher of one of these families daughters to one of their divorced friends who's coming from Germany to Iran but everything changes when the young teacher (Elly) disappears and no one knows if she's still alive or not? the judgments of these people about Elly forms the whole story of the film
