Technology for People with Disabilities

Scope: Microsoft has announced its new "Exploring PC Accessibility: New
Discoveries" grant program. Grants will support research and product
development initiatives that make PC technology more accessible and effective
for people with disabilities.  

Deadline: February 12, 1999. 

Funds: $250,000 total will be awarded in grants ranging from $10,000 to
$50,000 each. 

Eligibility: Education or non-profit organizations that are developing
accessibility technologies to be placed in the public domain are eligible. 

Areas: The grant will provide an opportunity for those in the accessibility
field to share new thinking and innovation that will help people with
disabilities take advantage of cutting-edge technology simultaneously with
other users.
