David,

Since you recently distributed some information about a training manual for
NaturallySpeaking, I thought people might also be interested in some other
recently published self-paced, self-instructional training manuals
(QuickTorials) for Dragon NaturallySpeaking and IBM ViaVoice. The manuals
cover the latest versions of the software. These inexpensive, spiral-bound
books are produced by South-Western Educational Publishing. They also produce
an instructor's CD-ROM for NaturallySpeaking and ViaVoice. In addition, they
publish a textbook "Type with One Hand" which can be used as a preliminary to
standard keyboarding texts. The Web site for more information is:

Type with One Hand
Published by South-Western Educational Publishing
Richardson, Nina K.
Copyright 1999 $13.95

Summary: This completely updated textbook provides people who have the use of
only one hand with a keyboard approach to develop, in the shortest possible
time, those skills and techniques necessary to key with both speed and
accuracy. A person can be taught to key just as effectively, just as
accurately, and in many instances just as rapidly with one hand as with two
hands.

The purpose of this book is to provide keyboarding procedures only through
the initial stages of learning. The instructional program provides a good
working knowledge of the entire keyboard, a steady development in skill, and
well-established techniques. Upon completion of this program, the learner can
effectively use any standard keyboarding textbook, such as South-Western's
Century 21 Keyboarding & Information Processing or College Keyboarding.

Features

Instructions are provided for left-hand-only and right-hand-only typists.

Introduction offers tips to help instructor to analyze the assets of the
student's usable hand and the incapacitated hand or arm.

Instructions are equally effective using computer keyboard or typewriter.

Updated design and graphics provide increased readability.

Supplementary drills and timed writings can be used by left-handed and
    right-handed typists.
