Prescriptions that talk
From: AT Journal - Vol 107
By: Vince Wetzel

For many people with visual, cognitive or other disabilities, opening the
medicine cabinet to take a prescription can be dangerous. Taking the wrong
medications at the wrong time could turn deadly. But there is a solution -
Rex, the Talking Bottle.

Developed by MedivoxRx Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Wizzard Software,
the "Rex" Disposable Talking Medication Bottle verbally identifies bottle
contents and educates people about how to properly use their medication.
Microelectronic technology is embedded in the base of each bottle. The
prescription can either be recorded into the bottle either through a consumer
recorder or through text-to-speech software installed at the pharmacy.
