DISKoveries: Software for the autism spectrum
From: Catalyst - The Newsletter of Western Center for Microcomputers in
    Special Education, Inc.
By: Joan Tanenhaus

Children on the autism spectrum are often fascinated with computers, yet
technology is rarely included in the IEP. Until recently, students with
autism were likely to be given generic software at a younger skill level than
their chronological age, but now at last there is software specifically
targeted for the autism population, especially in communication and social
skills.

Joan Tanenhaus reports and reviews several new products that have special
applicability to children who are on the Autistic Spectrum.

    Social Skill Builder
    The Discrete Trial Trainer
    GeoSafari Smart Talk
    Baby BumbleBee Videos/DVDs
    Watch Me Learn
    Feelings Book
