Festo wowed the crowd with a demonstration of this lifelike contraption,
called the humanoid muscle-robot. The product of a joint venture between
Festo AG and the Technical University of Berlin, the Humanoid possesses an
almost human-like ability to grasp and position objects. That's thanks to the
application of Festo's fluid muscle technology, consisting of a highly
flexible, air-tight hose placed within a 3D lattice grid of high-strength
fiber that permits a range of smooth, yet complex motions.
