CSDGC-Suzhou City Workshop on Leadership for Innovation Driven Sustainable Enterprise Development
CSDGC Executive Leadership Program

Venue: Stanford University

A new emphasis in our CSDGC leadership program is on cross-cultural communication and learning, especially as to how it pertains to knowledge exchange between Eastern and Western cultures. We have found this essential to the development of sustainable development understanding and collaboration. One approach we implemented in a recent workshop was to host a roundtable discussion between guests from Stanford and Silicon Valley, and workshop participants. The discussion focused on sustainable development issues arising from rapid urbanization and regional growth in China, and the level to which China’s human resources in greentech and hitech need to be developed. The group also discussed how Stanford’s research and educational programs prepare its students for future challenges.

Participant students were current and former Stanford students. Participants from the Suzhou delegation introduced several attractive attributes including the geographical location of Suzhou and the vibrant industrial growth, both of which attract and retain talented professionals.

The discussion forum was moderated by Zhang Ying. Ms. Zhang is an Executive Director at CCTV6 in Beijing, and a current CSDGC Visiting Scholar.
