We are currently doing a large system overhaul to get the compiler stable and a new interface to the backends to allow faster bringup on new machines. ~June 1, we plan to update the release to have x86 binaries for the compiler allowing for cross compilation for Cell (allowing the use of XLC) as well as PPC binaries for compilation directly on Cell hardware. We will transition to SDK 2.1 for this release which requires a large rewrite to the backend runtime. This release will also include support for running on the Sony Playstation3. We will remove the account requirement to get this release. ~July 1 we hope to release support for multiple platforms, likely with binaries still for the actual compiler infrastructure as building the compiler is more complex than we would like. There are also several updates to the language specification required to use the updated and improved syntax for gather/scatter and reductions.
Stay tuned for the release post and the updated README.
Converting to the new IBM SDK is taking a little longer than expected. We have the new overlay code working, but we are having issues with mailboxes and signaling that are behaving oddly. We may release the multi-core backend first.
