Pain Management Lecture on 3/01/12

Dr. Sean Mackey (Chief of the Pain Management Division) will give a talk on what is involved in pain management from an anesthesiologists point of view, and describe the details of this sub-specialty.

Anesthesia Interest Group Airway Workshop on 2/16/12

Faculty-led instruction and hands-on practicum (using dummies) about airway management and intubation. Dinner provided.

Simulation day with anesthesia residents on 2/02/12

Simulate a typical day as an anesthesia resident - preoperative assessment of a simulated patient, developing an anesthetic plan, setting up the OR, inducing anesthesia, intubating, and maintaining anesthesia, followed by a debrief after each step.

Mentorship Program on 1/15/12

Preclinical and clinical students interested in Anesthesia get paired with Anesthesia residents, physicians, or faculty mentor. AIG provides a total of $20 in funding for coffee or lunch to each pair. This year we want to do this earlier, to give the first years more of a chance to get to know their mentors.
