Over the weekend of January 30th ~ February 1st, the Stanford Men's Squash team hosted the West Coast round robin. Teams representing USC, Cal, Washington, and Oregon descended on the Stanford campus to compete in the annual event that is intended to grow the college game on the West Coast. This year, that growth was particularly apparent with the University of Oregon making their first ever appearance in the event.
Each year, the event is an exciting opportunity for Stanford to play rare home matches and compete against other West Coast club teams. As the game of squash has grown steadily over the last several years, so too has this event. The teams in the event improve year after year, making each year's event more exciting than the last.
The Stanford team enjoyed a very successful weekend, winning the event in convincing fashion. They defeated each opponent by a score of 9-0 and dropped just a handful of games throughout the weekend. Additionally, the victory was a team effort, as Stanford received victories from every player on the roster over the course of the weekend.
The Stanford Men's Squash team would like to thank all the competing teams for making the trip to Palo Alto to represent their respective universities. The Stanford team looks forward to the continued growth of West Coast squash and the continued growth of this event.
