Stanford Symphony Orchestra’s Summer 2017 Tour to Cuba and Mexico: June 18 – 29
We are planning our exciting performance tour to Cuba and Mexico this summer, from June 18-June 29, 2017!
The tour will include 4-5 formal concerts in unique venues, cultural and musical exchanges, and sight-seeing activities, offering students the opportunity to interact with two vibrant Latin American cultures. In Cuba, we will spend five days in Havana, experiencing a uniquely preserved world at a historical moment of developing international relations. Our destinations in Mexico include Mexico City (the country’s cultural center) and Guanajuato (an UNESCO World Heritage Site, set dramatically in the hills). Stay tuned for more information!
Please make sure your passport is valid through December 31, 2017. You will be responsible for the passport application and visa fees.
The whole cost of the tour is being finalized. Stanford students will pay half of that cost. Your individual contribution will be billed directly to student accounts in three installments on December 15, February 15, and April 15. Please be aware that there are cancellation penalties once you are committed for which you are responsible.
Please be advised that tour participation requires a year-long orchestra commitment (SSO or SP). Exceptions are made for students studying abroad in Fall or Winter Quarter (NOT Spring Quarter), or at the music director’s discretion. Priority will be given to undergraduate students.
