Bruce Finocchio

These photos were submitted soon after Bruce Finocchio was awarded Nature Slide of the Year at the North Council of Camera Clubs (N4C) for his "California Tent Moth Rest and Overnights on a Lupine Blossom" image. The lower photograph won 1st place in the wildlife category of California Academy of Scienceís 2003 Nature Photo Contest and was published in their magazine, California Wild, in the fall of 2003.   These two views are typical of hummingbird stretches--the pulling back of wings and the fanning of tail feathers while remaining perched. The Anna's Hummingbird (above) is a Stanford (and Bay Area) resident. The Allen's Hummingbird (below) is here in the summer.
