CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics — New Web Version Available

Monday, November 12th, 2007

The 88th edition of the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics is now available online. In addition to the new and updated tables, it offers a foreword by Sir Harry Kroto, Nobel Laureate, and 59 tables that were previously in older editions of the Handbook.

The new web edition contains tables covering 5 new topics:

  • Properties of Ionic Liquids
  • Solubilities of Hydrocarbons in Sea Water
  • Solubility of Organic Compounds in Superheated Water
  • Nutritive Value of Foods
  • Properties of Organic Semiconductors

And 7 of the most heavily used tables have been extensively revised and updated:

  • Critical Constants
  • Heats of Vaporization
  • Aqueous Solubility of Organic Compounds
  • Thermodynamic Properties of Air
  • Dipole Moments of Molecules
  • Bond Dissociation Energies
  • Properties of Fundamental Particles

10 more tables have been made interactive and are now searchable by name, formula, and numerical properties.

Two new sections:

  • Tables that were previously removed from older print editions for reasons of space — Appendix C
  • Subject index giving you the same easy browsability as the print — Section 20
