Techie Tip of the Week: Use Zotero to collect, organize, cite, and share web resources

Friday, January 13th, 2012

Are you a researcher? A student? Or someone who wants to store and use information on the Web? Zotero is a free, open-source tool you can use to help you collect, organize, cite, and share information you find.

Zotero senses content, and allows you to add it to your personal library with a single click. Whether you are searching for a journal article, a news story, or a book, Zotero will help you save the information you find. It stores PDFs, images, audio and video files, snapshots of web pages, and indexes them to help you find what you need quickly and easily.

Although originally just a plug-in for the Firefox web browser, Zotero now is also available as a standalone program Windows, GNU/Linux and MacOS X. Connectors are available to integrate Zotero Standalone into the web browsers Safari and Chrome.
