Important Dates for Fall Wushu

Wushu starts in the Fall. If you want to check out our first practice or see what wushu is, come to one of the following events!

Friday, September 25th

12:00pm to 4:00pm – White Plaza – Activities Fair

Friday, September 25th

5:00pm – Burnham Pavillion – Demonstration and First Wushu Practice

Winter Wushu

Wushu resumes in the the Winter. Come find out about wushu at any practice on Monday or Friday for the first two weeks or come to one of the following events:

Saturday, January 17th

3:25pm – Location TBD - Wushu Workshop at Listen to the Silence hosted by AASA

Wushu for Class Credit

Wushu is offered for class credit and participants of all levels. To take Wushu for credit, sign up for ATHLETIC 181M (under T. Ghormley) for 1 unit. The class is offered for C/NC based on attendance.

Wushu Collegiates 2014

Stanford Wushu brought home 10 individual medals at the 18th Annual Wushu Collegiates, placing 4th overall as a team.

What is Wushu?

Wushu is an important component of the cultural heritage of China, with a rich content that has remained untarnished over the centuries. Literally translated, "wu" is military, "shu" is art. Wushu therefore means the art of fighting, or martial arts.
