Chinese Bird

Typical travel books of the 1700s were filled with many beautiful illustrations.  Not only was this compilation  meant to inform, but it was also an entertaining work, hence its second title, Entertaining Traveller. For according to the author: "you may range from Pole to Pole, Encrease your Knowledge and delight your Soul; Travel all Nations and inform your Sense."  This included some description of "Beasts, Birds, Fishes, and Reptiles."  More than anything, these sections were among the lightest and most amusing in the volumes.
