WebAuth 3.2.6 Announcement

The ITSS WebAuth team is pleased to announce Stanford WebAuth 3.2.6. The only user-visible change to the package is that the Perl bindings for the WebAuth library have been renamed to WebAuth (from WebAuth3) and the weblogin scripts have been updated accordingly. The original module name was chosen to avoid a conflict with an old WebAuth v2 Perl module, but we've since renamed that module to something more internal, since WebAuth v2 has nearly been retired.

Users of mod_webauth and mod_webauthldap do not need to bother upgrading to this release; the change only affects the weblogin server.

For documentation and downloads of WebAuth 3.2.6, see:

<http://webauth.stanford.edu/>

Because this release only affects the WebKDC server, we've not built new binary packages for Solaris. There are new Debian packages available, however, available by adding:

    deb http://archives.eyrie.org/debian unstable main non-free contrib

to your /etc/apt/sources.list file, and they should all upgrade properly from previous versions, including the weblogin package. After upgrading, you can remove the libwebauth3-perl package.

The user-visible changes in this release are:

  • Rename the Perl bindings from WebAuth3 to WebAuth to match the name of the shared library.
