I'm a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. I currently work with the Image, Video and Multimedia Systems Group led by Prof. Bernd Girod. My research focuses on search, categorization and compression of multimedia information.
I am a Fulbright Science & Technology Scholar and an Accel Innovation Scholar. I have worked with several companies, such as Google, Technicolor and Arcelor-Mittal. On the science outreach side, I co-founded and was an editor of The Global Scientist online magazine.
My MSc. was completed in July/2010, at the University of Campinas, Brazil, focusing on video coding. I completed my BSc. in 2008 in a double degree program between the University of Campinas, Brazil and the Institut National des Sciences Apliquées de Lyon, France, with honors.
