Full name: Mary Flannery O'Connor. American author born in Savannah,
Georgia, famed for regional stories of the "Southern Gothic" type.
A Good Man is Hard to Find. 1955.
A collection of eleven short stories, one of which, concerning serial killers, has the same title as the collection.
The title story was adapted to film as "Black Hearts Bleed Red" in 1992.
Wise Blood. 1952.
Flannery's first novel, featuring the blackly comedic misadventures of
veteran and disbeliever Hazel Motes as he stumbles through a number of
increasingly grotesque and perverse evangelical cults. Adapted to film in 1979.
