I am a media psychologist and doctoral candidate in the Department of Communication at Stanford University. Generally speaking, I study motivation, engagement, and the cognitive and emotional processing of media - that is, how and why people use media the ways they do. In turn, I am interested in how this understanding can be applied to the design of user experiences (including interfaces, game design, and behavior change interventions).
