Alpine birds are my favorite. It is usually hard to get to their habitat because of the altitude. However, once you get to their habitat, you are guaranteed to see them. Accentor is no doubt the star among these alpine residents. They dress bright and act bald. For a bird photographer like me, it was not unusual to face a situation when they came too close to be focused. Alpine Accentor is also one of the species that migrate vertically in the winter from above 9800 feet down to around 8000 feet.
