The .backup directory
The myth computers provide a daily backup of your home directory and
all of its subdirectories, that happens at some point overnight. If
you accidentally delete a file that was in your directory the day
before, you will likely find it backed up in that folder. To get to
your .backup directory, type:
$ cd ~/.backup
You should not rely on this as a backup for your files, but it can come in handy if you accidentally lose your work.
