For our raytracer, we decided to go with a scene that emphasized the bonuses that ray tracing gave us. We wanted the scene to also evoke a sense of strange wonder, so we worked to make it seem strange, but also have life. Everything in the scene was modeled and textured by us, save for the skeleton and the actual pillar model (we did texture the pillars). The boat, including the oars and railing, all of the floating bubbles, and the water, were both textured (with images from the internet) and modeled by us. We also set up the skeleton's body correctly. We utilized depth of field in our image and also implemented photon gathering with final gathering in the PhotonMapRenderer. As one can probably tell, we gave the bubbles transmissive and reflective properties, and the water itself is reflective as well. In addition, the material properties of other objects (the skeleton, boat, pillars, and skybox) were adjusted to look the way we wanted. We utilized directional point lights (of different colors) to get the lighting just right, since we have an aurora skybox in the scene. We created and textured the skybox ourselves with images from the internet. In addition, the skybox has special properties that allows it to not have shadows cast on it - something we had to implement ourselves. The image itself depicts a skeleton rowing across a body of water, headed to some location beyond the pillars.
