My image depicts Batman on a rooftop in Arkham City, inspired by the imagery in Batman: Arkham City and Arkham Knight. There are seven distinct models in the image. The Batman model, which includes the head, body, and cape, was found online at tf3dm. The billboard, the billboard lamp models, the hotel sign, sky plane, and the two buildings(which are each made up of window models, roofs, and individual brick models) were all modeled in maya. The Batman model was rigged and posed in Maya along with the sculpting of the cape to make it have the illusion of that wind is blowing in the scene. The scene has a total of 18 lights, 5 point lights to illuminate the windows on the buildings, 3 directional lights illuminating the billboard, 2 directional lights illuminating the sky plane, and a mixture of lights illuminating batman and the hotel sign. The neon hotel sign was given it's "neon" look by using a plain red texture along with a hemisphere light and 2 point lights. There are 2 directional lights pointing upwards at Batman on his left and right sides. A red point light was used on his right shoulder as a reflection of the light due to the hotel sign. Another point light was positioned in front of Batman to provide illumination to the top of his body. The Batman model came with diffuse, specular, and normal maps, all of which were used to texture Batman. The sky plane is just a giant plane with a texture stretched over it. The 2 buildings both have brick textures that use diffuse, specular, and normal mapping. The specular texture on the smaller buildings window helped create a grimy film on the window surface. The hotel building windows that are lit were textured specifically to give the illusion that the light in the room was passing through some curtains. All texturing was done or edited in photoshop.
