Exam-Day Instructions *KEY* What to bring to exam: which assigned room and seat written down, State or Stanford photo ID, 2 pens or pencils. No phone or computer or things like that. 1. We have assigned-seating, so check on the course website for your assigned room and seat, and you can look at the room-maps to see where that seat is. Write down your assigned seat before heading to the exam room. It's simplest if you do not bring any phone or computer or backpack to the exam room. 2. Students normally have a phone, bags, computers, smart watches, airpods, and whatnot as they work on campus. However, for the exam, it will be simplest if you do not bring any of those things with you. In particular, please do not wear a smart watch (a watch which can display a paragraph) or smart glasses to the exam. 3. If you do have a bag or phone or smartwatch or airpods with you for the exam, before we hand out the exams, you should silence the phone, put it and all your other material in the bag, seal it up and leave it at the front of the room for the duration of the exam. The bags must not block the room exits. When we hand out the exams, every person should be in their assigned seat in a pristine, exam-ready condition, with no notes or phones or anything nearby. You can imagine someone absentmindedly pulling their phone out of their pocket out of habit, so that's why we want all that stuff zipped up and out of the way. You may let a staffer know if you see something that seems wrong. 4. If you need to go to the bathroom, give your exam to a staffer to hold. Ideally, go to the bathroom before the exam. 5. When you are done with your exam, please hand it in to a staff member. We will check your State or Stanford photo ID at that time, so please have your ID ready.
