  • Rules: Open book, closed computer and other aids. Closed notes except one sheet 8.5x11 (both sides). Sheet can be in any form you wish. The exam will include a reference page with the function signatures for various Stanford library and standard library functions that you might need on the exam. But it is your responsiblity to know how to use them and what they do based on just the function signatures.
  • "Dress Rehearsal" Practice Exam: Monday, October 28th, 7:00-9:00pm in 320-105. We are keeping one of the practice exams off of this page for now, and it will be printed and given out as a "dress rehearsal" practice exam. This gives you the chance to try an exam under realisitic, timed conditions. A TA will be on hand to answer your questions about the exam in an annex room near the exam room. The exam used for the dress rehearsal (and its solutions) will be posted here that night for those who can't make it.
  • Review Session: Saturday, October 26th, 4:00-5:00pm in Shriram 104. Veteran section leaders will be providing an overall review of topics covered on the midterm, as well as walk through a few practice questions. If you are unable to attend in-person, the session will be recorded and posted on Canvas.
  • Topics: Lectures through Monday 10/21 (no classes/objects). Assignments through assn4. Section problems through Section 4 / Week 5. Textbook Chapters 1-5, 7-9, 10.2 (you will not be tested on "gotcha" stuff that is only in the book and wasn't emphasized in lecture/assignments/section, but if you want extra review of the topics those are the relevant readings).
  • Practice Exam 1 (Solutions)
  • Practice Exam 2 (Solutions)
  • Practice Exam 3 (Solutions)
  • The following practice exams were prepared for the Spring 2019 class of CS106B. They may include a question on making classes, which is *not* going to be on our exam. But they do have the nice property that there are CSBS problems associated with the exam problems, so after you solve them on paper, you can go type up your solution on CSBS to check it.
