I am holding extra office hours from 4pm to 5pm this Thur and Friday. In lecture 5, slide 15, the last step in the CG iteration should be: pk = rk + βk pk-1. The lecture 5 slides have been updated. For problem 6(b), please report the number of iterations and residual norm of the system of linear equations solved by your program. Problem 6(a) refers to the algorithm given in lecture 5 slide 15, which
has a different index scheme than the algorithm given in the textbook (to
see the differences, compare the indices on the left of the equations in
the two algorithms).
Please write your own code for Problem 7(b). If you want, you may use Matlab's built-in functions for ODEs only for comparison of answers. Sou Cheng |
