FAQ
Can anyone audit the course?
Yes! This course is open to everyone for auditing, both in-person and via the Zoom livestream. There is no need to formally enroll or register if you are auditing the course. You can simply attend the lectures or join via the provided Zoom link. Note that while auditing is welcome, formal enrollment is required for Stanford students who wish to receive credit for the course.
Can I receive credit or a certificate if I’m not at Stanford
Unless you are a Stanford student, there is no way to “officially” enroll in or audit this course (i.e., get a credit/certificate/acknowledgement). We are just opening it up to the public for attendance.
When will lecture recordings be posted?
Lecture recordings will typically be posted approximately one-to-two weeks after each lecture. This delay allows for editing and processing to ensure quality. Recordings will be available on the course playlist, which you can find on the Recordings page. Additionally, previous recordings from earlier terms or lectures are already available for public viewing.
What are the grading and attendance requirements?
The course is graded on a Satisfactory/No Credit (S/NC) basis, with no exams, homework, or projects. The only requirement for receiving credit is attendance. You must attend at least 80% of the lectures to pass the course. Each week, all you have to do is fill out the attendance form posted on the Logistics page!
Where are the recordings for past speakers?
Most talks from previous iterations of the course are posted on the Recordings page, but you can also use the links below to view the full speaker lineups and talk descriptions from previous iterations:
