I've posted the code from today's lecture on the
Syllabus page.
Since I will be out of town on the day that Homework 3 is due, please submit it to Ali. For Homework 4, part (c), you need to compute the generic stiffness matrix and load vector, corresponding to equation (13) on page 5 of the Lecture 12 notes. For part (d), you need to modify these to account for the boundary conditions, as described in Sections 1.5-1.7 of the same notes. For computing the elements of the generic stiffness matrix in part (c), you might find it easier to follow the discussion in Section 1.4 of the Lecture 11 notes, keeping in mind that in the notes, a different ODE is being solved.
