The William Gates Computer Science
Building is primarily used for classes and labs in computer sciences.
Specifically designed and equipped to provide an ideal environment for research
in the information sciences, the building boasts 16 miles of optical fiber, 33
miles of Ethernet cabling, and 17 miles of video cable.
Driving Directions to Parking
Structure 1 near the William Gates Computer Science Building

From Highway 101 (North and South)
- Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. Embarcadero turns into
Galvez Road. Continue until Campus Drive. Turn right on Campus Drive East
crossing Palm Drive. Campus Drive curves to the left and you will see the
multi-story parking structure on the left.

From Highway 280 (North and South)
- Exit Sand Hill Road west towards Stanford. Continue downhill and turn right
on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard.
Turn left at the first stoplight, Campus Drive West. Continue on Campus Drive
West as it curves to the right and left. You will see the multi-story parking
structure on the right.

From El Camino Real (North and
South) - Exit El Camino Real at University Avenue. Take University Avenue West
(Palm Drive), away from Palo Alto. University becomes Palm Drive. Make a right
onto Campus Drive. Campus Drive curves to the left and you will see the
multi-story parking structure on the left.
Parking

There is parking available in the
multi-story parking structure (PS-1) off of Campus Drive and Roth Way. There
are also a few spaces in the small parking lot adjacent to the building to the
north on North Service Rd. Parking permits are not required after
4pm.
Building and Classroom
Access

There is one accessible entrance to
the buiding off of Serra Mall. Take the evevator down to the lower leverl (B).
Turn left exitting the elevator. The Toshiba Classroom (B12) will be the
second classroom on your left.

If you enter at the entrance at the
"rounded" corner of the building (Serra Mall and North-South Axis), a long
flight of stairs will take you to the lower level. Turn right at the bottom of
the stairs. The Toshiba Classroom (B12) will be the second classroom on
your left.
- Do not enter the building via the A
Wing entrance - you will find yourself in an office corridor.

The classroom can accommodate
wheelchair users in the front and back of the room.
