because I thought it was just another sexist show about a girl in a
push-up bra who fights crime without challenging her gender role. But
after a few staunchly feminist friends encouraged me to give the show
a try, my view definitely changed. Buffy the character and Buffy the
show do challenge gender stereotypes and do incorporate many feminist
themes, but I remain somewhat confused and conflicted about my feelings
toward the show."
