Molyneux founded Bullfrog Productions in 1987 in order to publish Populous, which appeared in 1989. Followed by Populous II in 1993 and Populous: The Beginning in 1998. Populous, along with Maxis' series of Sim games, established the "God Game" as a sub-genre of strategy and simulation games. God Games put the player in control of a world in ways that influence its inhabitants' behavior towards the achievement of victory conditions. Other Bullfrog titles included Dungeon Keeper (1997) and Dungeon Keeper 2 (1999). Sold Bullfrog to Electronic Arts in 1995 (now Bullfrog Studio). Founded Lionhead Studios in 1997. Lionhead published Black and White in 2001.
