Laboratory Chemical Safety Summaries
Purpose: These summaries provide basic information on the toxicity, flammability, reactivity, and explosivity of chemicals commonly used in research laboratories. Directions for handling, storage, and special instruction for first aid and emergency response are given.
Limitations: These summaries should only be used by laboratory workers with general training in the safe handling of chemicals and should be used in conjunction with safe laboratory practices covered in the SU Laboratory Chemical Safety Toolkit. The summaries are not intended to be comprehensive hazard reviews of existing literature, but are best used as a complement to up-to-date MSDSs and other hazard information.
