Win, Thet Shein
Thet Shein Win is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Anthropology. Her dissertation research analyzes cultural processes through which one becomes a visual artist in the San Francisco Bay Area today, particularly amidst changes in artistic practices generated from digital technologies and the Internet. Thet holds an MA in Cultural and Social Anthropology from Stanford University, an MFA in Sculpture from Mills College, and a BA in Fine Art and Literature from Claremont McKenna College. She has exhibited her artwork, curated exhibitions, and taught art in numerous arts organizations around the Bay Area. She also managed an online curriculum development team for a neuroscience-based educational software company in Oakland.
