Presentations will explore a variety of issues concerning political economy of the Muslim World, including economic performance, political participation, activism, identity formation, and institutional change. The conference will commence with a half-day graduate student workshop. Organized jointly by Stanford University’s Sohaib and Sara Abbasi Program in Islamic Studies and the Association for Analytic Learning about Islam and Muslim Societies (AALIMS), the conference is co-sponsored by Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and Stanford Center for International Development (SCID).
