Elizabeth Traugott Honorary Doctorate (and talks)

Elizabeth Traugott was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Helsinki on May 28. She also gave a plenary address at ICAME 31 in Giessen on ‘The persistence of linguistic
contexts over time: Implications for corpus research’, and a few days later she spoke at a workshop on modality and evidentiality in Hanovor. Her talk there was called ‘Dialogically contractive uses of modal adverbs in Proceedings of the Old Bailey‘.
