English for Foreign Students (EFSLANG) Courses

These courses, numbered from 690-698, represent offerings for nonnative English-speaking graduate students in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters. Enrollment in one or more courses may be required of, or recommended to, current graduate students from other countries after they have taken the English placement examination. To enroll, students must go to for directions on or before the first day of each quarter. Some courses are open to undergraduates by consent of the program; email for information. During the Summer Session, courses in spoken and written English are offered. Two six-week intensive courses are also offered during the summer. Summer visitors must apply directly to the EFS program.
