Lots of stuff in here! this is clearly a magazine aimed primarily at families who are interested in camping, and so it assumes relatively little hiking should be required. therefore, there are lots and lots of ads for a wide variety of RVs and camping trailers. there are also ads for accessories, including pickup bed covers, goodyear wrangler tires (with an ad featuring their toughness and ruggedness), pickup bed conversions, seat covers for second and third row seats in SUVs or pickups, diesel fuel tanks and other performance enhancers, and even a small motorhome that is described as driving like an SUV, to the point of being used as a third car. there are still no actual ads for cars, but this magazine clearly anticiates that everyone will have something 'rugged', fit for camping, or an RV. obviously, while these are serious campers, they are not serious hikers, doing primarily day trips ranging out from a campsite. the RV ads all concentrate on ruggedness and on durability, but several also mention 'electronics and conveniences' or 'fit and finish'. none of the ads give specifics on what that means, but there is an ad for a special RV refridgerator, as well as a three page review of an RV, which, among other things, mentions an 'AM/FM/CD stereo system with two speakers' as part of the options package and nothing else. While it is a relatively inexpensive RV, it still has none of the bells and whistles cars are getting these days, like DVD or bluetooth, even as add-on options. they would have to be added after market.
