He exhibits work in galleries around the world and his paintings are held in private collections in more than 40 countries as well as in numerous public collections including those of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and The Scotland Office in London.

Derek's work is in great demand and he currently has a two-year-long waiting list for commissions.

He is regularly featured in press, radio and television. He has written and presented several television programmes about art and wildlife.

Derek has written and illustrated numerous books and articles and has written and illustrated two books about his own paintings. He is well known for his appearances on numerous television programmes, a number of which he has written and presented himself.
