There’s an interesting post on traveling with an iPad with tips gleaned from being on the road for a year with an iPad. Gary Arndt writes about his experiences on his blog, Everything-Everywhere.
He hits on a number of interesting topics such as Maps, Photography, Media/Reading, and Kids, with App experiences shared along the way.
The Unofficial Apple Weblog has a follow-up writeup in their Aug 7 post with some added information and thoughts on the matter.
Brought to my attention in the posts was a clothing company which makes travel clothing specifically targeted to those tech-heavy travelers and their need to store items discreetly. I would never thought an iPad or even a MacBook Air could be comfortably worn! In my mind, the greatest advantage may very well be the ease with which you can breeze through airport security by simply taking off the vest for the X-ray machine. (remember: iPads and MacBook Air 11″ models do not need to be taken out and placed in a separate bin the way laptop computers do.) The company is Scottevest. (note: the page seems to be down as of this writing)
