Benedikt is studying Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He was also a participant in the Entrepreneurial Qualification Program "Manage&More". This is a program of the Center for Innovation and Business Creation at the TU Munich (“UnternehmerTUM”) which supports Innovation and Start-Up Projects. In Manage&More, Benedikt was involved in developing vision-scenarios for innovation stragegies at Siemens, as well as in identifying new applications with shape-memory alloys and polymers in the automotive sector for BMW. He continued this project as a bachelor thesis at BMW, where he invented a novel and patented application with smart materials. Other practical experiences he gained were as a working student at UnternehmerTUM, where he worked in consulting projects for 9 months in the field of new business creation in the mobility sector. He also co-founded the startup Suavis, that developed a smart barbecue for the consumer market. 

At Stanford he took the classes E311c: Expanding Engineering Limits, ME302C: Automotive Entrepreneurship and E145: Technology Entrepreneurship. 

He joined the Designing Education Lab to learn more about the integration of people-empathic design in innovation projects. Therefore, he analyzes projects of the design thinking course ME310 at the

Benedikt likes to spend time in the nature (hiking, skiing or surfing) or playing piano as well as composing music.
