Tua studies turning ideas into improvements in product design, entrepreneurship, management, and teaching. She has worked in the founding team of the Design Factory, a multidisciplinary experimentation platform in Aalto University, Finland, for students, teachers, researcher, practitioners and budding entrepreneurs. In the Designing Education Lab, Tua works in a project investigating how different experiences shape engineering students' subsequent willingness and confidence in pursuing innovation and entrepreneurship. Building on the Engineering Majors Survey, the current study focuses on the role of initial work experiences. Tua is also conducting a longitudinal study of opportunity construction with entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and ecosystems.
