Kai Jun (KJ) Chew is a first year Master student majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. Born and raised in Malaysia, KJ received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). Though he did not have a specific concentration at his undergraduate level, he is interested in working in the field of solid mechanics, finite element methods and engineering education. KJ is currently part of the DEL team, assisting Professor Sheri Sheppard in one of the projects in the course E14: Intro to Solid Mechanics by analyzing the students' responses for the project and giving suggestions and recommendations in improving the structure of the course.

During his undergraduate years, KJ was the grader for Statics and Solidworks courses at USC. KJ was also active in several organizations; he was the Vice President of Tau Beta Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma and an active member in the Body Work team in USC Racing, USC chapter of Formula SAE. He also played for Kazan Taiko, a Japanese-druming group, for two years.

KJ is an ardent fan of college football; he particularly supports both USC and Stanford football teams.
