Lassi Liikkanen - Lassi earned his doctorate in psychology from the University of Helsinki. His talk is titled "The psychology of design: past and the revolt."

Tea Lempiälä is pursuing her Ph.D. at Aalto University with a research focus on the social practices of innovation in organizations.

Thomas Visser - StudioLab of the Delft University of Technology - Presentation on an interactive product named "SnowGlobe", which is a lamp for the home environment that allows communication with another person who has a SnowGlobe installed. It detects movement and 'shaking', and communicates this to the remote globe by making it shine brighter or blink. SnowGlobe is a tool for studying effects of low-bandwidth communication on social well-being. Thomas is currently investigating those behaviors and experiences in a controlled lab setting at the CHIMe lab of Prof. Clifford Nass, here at Stanford. Thomas will also discuss some of the HCI aspects of his research and findings.
