SEWSS SCHOLARS PROGRAM

If you are planning on enrolling in 3 or more SEWSS courses, you may be interested in the SEWSS Scholars Program.

EXPERTISE-BUILDING Pursuit of the SEWSS Scholars Program exemplifies the commitment to a specialization in Environmental Engineering & Science. It signifies a student's depth of scholarly interest as well as breadth of skills and knowledge. Students who succeed in the SEWSS Scholars Program represent the next generation of explorers, experts and innovation leaders in the environmental field.

Registered Summer Session students enrolled in 3 or more SEWSS courses are eligible for the SEWSS Scholars Program. Scholars successfully completing and earning C- letter-grade (1.7) or higher credit (S and CR grades accepted) in each of three courses in this program are eligible for a Letter of Recognition certificate.


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

The following actions are required to fulfill participation in the SEWSS Scholars Program.

  1. Submission of the SEWSS Registration Form. Deadline: August 15, 2020.
  2. Submission of the SEWSS Scholars Program Registration Form. Deadline: August 15, 2020.
  3. Submission of official Stanford e-transcript listing passing grades for three SEWSS courses. Deadline: September 15, 2020.


SEWSS INDEPENDENT STUDY COURSE
SEWSS students participating in the SEWSS Scholars Program may apply to enroll in CEE 199J/CEE 299J to conduct a 1-unit directed independent study of a topic in environmental engineering & science. This course counts as one of the three courses needed to qualify for the SEWSS Scholars Program. In Summer 2020, the work will focus on journalism and communication media related to environmental research, education and issues. Enrollment will be facilitated by Permission Numbers and limited to 3 students.

SEWSS SCHOLARS PROGRAM LETTER OF RECOGNITION
Interested in a certificate? For successful completion of the SEWSS Scholars Program, students qualify for the SEWSS Scholars Program Letter of Recognition.
