There are two different programs called "cscope". One is a Free Software program for examining C code. Another is a proprietary software for Electrical Engineering.
The former is http://cscope.sourceforge.net/ and might be used for class CS140 and is installed via Ubuntu packages and it's /usr/bin/cscope
The latter is used for class EE114 and is installed by the TAs:
/afs/ir.stanford.edu/class/archive/ee/ee/synopsys.1112/CosmosScope64/I-2013.12/ai_bin/cscope
To get the licence for the software.
source /usr/class/ee114/hspice/DOT.cshrc
Its full name is Synopsys CosmosScope: http://www.synopsys.com/Systems/Saber/Pages/cosmos_scope_ds.aspx
