Thanks to the 4,200+ travelers who booked their Stanford business travel in Egencia this past year, Stanford Travel was able to initiate and increase discounts on more than 20 major airlines––including United, Delta, American, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, British Air, Cathay Pacific, Emirates and more.

These discounts can translate into big savings for Stanford. For example: One Stanford traveler saved over $1,000, utilizing the 35 percent business class discount on her Air Berlin flight to Germany, by booking through Stanford Travel.

Think you can find airfares cheaper somewhere else? You don't need to shop around when traveling for Stanford. According to a third-party analysis, Egencia has a "Meet or Beat ratio" of 98.2% when comparing its exact flights and dates to the competition. So save yourself time and money and book your Stanford trips on Stanford Travel.

International Travel Tips

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is now requiring additional security measures for all international flights to the United States.

It is recommended that international travelers arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight, allowing time for the additional security measures.

One way to make your international travel easier and faster is the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Global Entry program. Travelers now have the unique opportunity to interview for Global Entry when they return from their next international trip at San Francisco airport, through the Enrollment on Arrival pilot program.

For updated information about Global Entry and Enrollment on Arrival, visit the U.S. Customs website.

A Year Already?

To celebrate our one-year anniversary with Egencia, we'll hold a drawing for all those who will have traveled or booked travel on Egencia through the end of September 2017.

The prize: a free* roundtrip/one-way Main Cabin ticket on Delta Airlines for travel within all its United states and Canada destinations, excluding Hawaii.

Congratulations to Pauline Prater of the School of Medicine, who won our previous drawing for a free ticket on American Airlines.

Meanwhile, are you new to Egencia, or need a quick refresher? Check out the Egencia Resource Center for travelers.

Survey Says...

We had great participation (870 respondents) and even better results in our recent Stanford Travel satisfaction survey. Eighty-four percent of the survey-takers rated their experience with Stanford Travel as good or excellent.

The results also showed us that some travel customers weren't aware of the benefits of Stanford Travel beyond fare discounts. For example:

  • Faster booking with easy access to stored loyalty numbers and payment preferences
  • Shared itineraries allowing travelers book seats next to each other (or not!)
  • Special assistance from our preferred airline partners to waive fees or change names on a case-by-case basis
  • Leveraged hotel buying power of Egencia's affiliated companies––Expedia,, Hotwire and more
  • Safety features, with all bookings sent to International SOS to locate and assist travelers in event of emergencies
  • Expert Egencia travel agents, including international travel experts to assist with complicated itineraries
