Q&A: Frederick Douglass' Paper

Question: In reviewing a record for "Frederick Douglass' Paper." I noticed that some years for this periodical were listed in brackets. I assume this means that Stanford has only some issues in these years, rather than a complete run. Is there any way of finding out exactly which issues Stanford has on microfilm, short of coming into Green Library and looking at the specific reels? I am interested in locating the March 7, 1856, issue in particular.

Answer: Yes, your assumption is correct, Stanford does not have the 1856 issues (I just went to Media Microtexts and looked at the reels to confirm the records). The final issue in our Microfilm holdings is December 1855.
