About IEEE

Background:

Stanford IEEE is Stanford’s student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It started in 2001 and currently reaches out to more than 1,000 students on campus. Stanford IEEE Student Branch is proud to be a part of IEEE University Partnership Program.

Goals and Missions:

We are a group of undergraduate and graduate EE and CS students who work together to create unique opportunities with industry and academic partners, acquire new technical skills, learn about technology research and innovation, and empower one another to pursue projects and careers in our diverse industries of interest. Our initiatives fall into three categories:

  • Academic relations
  • Industry relations
  • Relations with other IEEE branches – participate and support initiatives sponsored by the National IEEE, through our participation in the University Partnership Program, Santa Clara Valley IEEE, and other IEEE student branches.
