Directions

Getting to Stanford

from Highway 280:

• Take the Sand Hill Road exit and go East on Sand Hill. Follow Sand Hill Road until you come to Arboretum Drive (the Stanford Shopping Center will be ahead on your right). Turn right onto Arboretum Drive. Then turn right onto Palm Drive, heading toward the Oval. (See Parking)

from Highway 101:

• Take University Avenue exit from 101, toward Palo Alto. Continue through downtown Palo Alto, when University Avenue becomes Palm Drive, heading toward the Oval. (See Parking)

from El Camino Real, heading North:

• After passing Embarcadero Road, get in the right lane. There will be a turn-off on the right for Stanford, University Avenue, and the CalTrain station. Take this turn-off and get into the left lane, then turn left onto Palm Drive, heading toward the Oval. (See Parking)

from El Camino Real, heading South:

• After passing the Stanford Shopping Center on your right, get in the right lane (quickly). There will be a turn-off on the right for Stanford. Take this turn-off and get into the right lane, then turn right onto Palm Drive, heading toward the Oval. (See Parking)

Parking

We have reserved special permit parking spaces zoned “Q” for families in our studies. You should have received a temporary parking permit valid in the Q-spaces only, located at the top of the Oval.

From Palm Drive:

Follow Palm drive into the Oval. The 4 Q-spaces are on the right hand side just as you get to the top, before where you start to veer left. The Q-spaces are highlighted on your map.

If all the Q-spaces are taken, please park in any open A spot, and put the parking permit on the dashboard so it is clearly visible.

IMPORTANT:

Please place the permit on your dashboard, facing up with the date of your appointment clearly marked in ink.

After parking your car, walk across Serra Street and towards the Main Quad. (Watch out for bikers!). If you bring a stroller, there is a ramp next to the center stairs toward the Main Quad, near our building. Continue along the covered walkway away from the Main Quad. The Center for Infant Studies is located in MARGARET JACKS HALL, in Building 460, the first building on the right as you face the main quad.

When you enter Margaret Jacks Hall, take the elevator or stairs down to the lower level, turn left as you exit, and ring the doorbell at the Center for Infant Studies. A research assistant will be there to greet you.
